Emergency Brake

During emergency braking, lean backwards - never forwards

In the event of an emergency brake, you should always lean against the back cushion and never forward. Leaning forward increases the braking distance significantly. If you can, try to lean backwards during a braking manoeuver.

If you have to brake abruptly, you can pull the joystick back or release it (depending on the "Fast Brake" setting, see Braking Behavior Setting). Be aware that the wheelchair will then try to regain its balance with a jerky forward movement. For this reason, only perform this kind of braking manoeuvre in an emergency. You can also briefly press the standby button to trigger emergency braking.
